Billions Invested in Infrastructure Projects to Propel Tourism in Nghe An
Often referred to as "Vietnam in miniature" due to its diverse landscapes, including sea, plains, midlands, and mountains, Nghe An is becoming a focal point for experiential tourism and resort real estate investment in the northern region, thanks to its comprehensive transportation infrastructure.
Infrastructure Boost
Nghe An, with the fourth-largest population in the country and the largest area in Vietnam, is situated at the heart of the North Central region. It boasts a well-connected transportation system, encompassing railways, roads, waterways, and even aviation. Notably, the province is actively investing in its transportation infrastructure, making it increasingly modern.
In 2022 alone, an estimated tens of trillions of Vietnamese dong have been poured into the development of infrastructure in Nghe An. Key transportation projects are being rapidly implemented, such as the 83km coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Ha Tinh, the connecting road from National Highway 7C (Do Luong) to Ho Chi Minh Road (Tan Ky). According to the plan, the high-speed railway route from Hanoi to Vinh is expected to start operating in 2030, reducing travel time from Hanoi to Vinh to less than 2 hours.
Additionally, the government has approved the investment plan to upgrade and expand Vinh International Airport by 2.5 times its current size. This includes constructing additional facilities for Vinh International Airport with a total budget of over VND 10,700 billion, building the deep-water port of Cua Lo with a scale of VND 3,300 billion, and constructing the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway (passing through Nghe An). Nghe An has also recently announced plans, calling for investment in numerous industrial zones and new urban areas.
"These major projects will provide Nghe An with the opportunity for robust economic development, creating a distinctive urban space with local characteristics, environmental friendliness, and enhancing the quality of living environments," commented Mr. Nguyen Lam, a retired official in Vinh City.
Enormous Tourism Potential
With a rich cultural and historical heritage, Nghe An currently has over 2,000 historical and scenic sites. The province is also favored by nature with a world biosphere reserve in western Nghe An (recognized by UNESCO) and numerous beautiful beaches stretching over 82km of coastline, with ample sunlight, making it convenient for year-round resort tourism development.
The diversity of tourism resources in Nghe An is further reflected in its caves, waterfalls, attracting tourists who enjoy exploring nature, trekking, boating, and experiencing the local culture.
Recently, in Vinh City, the Ecopark Group has launched the Eco Central Park ecological urban complex, covering nearly 200 hectares. This is the largest urban project in the city, catering to the entertainment, experience, and resort needs of millions of tourists. When completed, the project will become a perfect addition to Nghe An's tourism "takeoff."
The strong infrastructure development coupled with the influx of major enterprises, with many large-scale real estate projects pouring into Vinh City, Nghe An, has ushered in a new breeze, heating up the real estate market in the area.
As a result, Vinh City has become one of the most vibrant real estate markets in the country over the past three quarters, according to statistics from the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association.
