Accelerating the Implementation of Industrial Infrastructure Projects in Thanh Hoa Province
On the afternoon of August 15, Comrade Mai Xuan Liem, Member of the Permanent Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a specialized conference on the situation of implementing industrial infrastructure projects and industrial clusters in Thanh Hoa province. The conference was attended by leaders of departments, branches, units, and relevant localities.
Currently, the Nghi Son Economic Zone has 23 industrial zones covering an area of over 9,000 hectares. Among them, 7 industrial zones have been fully occupied, 4 zones have attracted infrastructure investors, 11 zones have approved zoning plans but lack infrastructure investors, and 1 zone is in the process of zoning. In addition to the Nghi Son Economic Zone, there are 19 approved industrial zones in the province, with a planned area of over 6,000 hectares by 2030. Among them, 5 industrial zones have infrastructure investors, 3 zones do not have infrastructure investors, and the remaining zones have recently been approved for zoning.
Regarding industrial clusters, by 2030, Thanh Hoa province plans to develop 115 industrial clusters. Up to now, 44 industrial clusters have been established with a total area of 1,643 hectares. Among them, 31 industrial clusters are progressing on schedule in terms of infrastructure investment, and 13 industrial clusters are lagging behind.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mai Xuan Liem, requested relevant departments, branches, and units to clarify the reasons affecting the progress of investment attraction and investment in industrial infrastructure projects and clusters. He urged investors to concentrate capital on implementing approved infrastructure projects, improve technical infrastructure such as drainage and fire prevention at some industrial zones and clusters that are currently operational. For delayed projects, if the delays are not due to regulations or land clearance issues and despite extensions granted to investors, the projects still cannot meet the progress requirements, a reconsideration of project withdrawal should be conducted. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also required the Management Board of the Nghi Son Economic Zone and relevant departments to expedite the detailed planning of the remaining industrial zones and clusters to attract businesses for infrastructure investment.
