Green Standard Design
Facing the challenge of climate change and the consequences of environmental pollution, green building projects emerge as a solution to the problem of energy and sustainable development. Green building has been widely applied in many other countries around the world, however, the development speed of green building between countries is not the same.
Currently, in the world, there are many evaluation standards for Green Buildings with different evaluation criteria, based on five basic factors: energy, sustainable location, materials & waste, water and indoor air quality. Many organizations have come up with sets of criteria to evaluate green buildings, These include: LEED (USA), EDGE (IFC - Under the World Bank), GREAM (UK), Green Star (Australia), GBI (Malaysia), CASBEE (Japan), Green Mark (Singapore)...In Vietnam, there is a set of LOTUS criteria, which is developed by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC).
Green building is the philosophy and method of designing, constructing and operating buildings with environmental responsibility, ensuring sustainable development for present and future generations. Green building is also used to refer to works and projects developed under this philosophy, especially those that have been assessed or certified by an independent third party. Therefore, APS is applying these green standards to projects that will be implemented with the goal of:
- Avoid wasting energy, clean water and other resources
- Reducing waste, pollution and negative impacts on the environment
- Improve the quality of indoor living environment
